An overview of child language development in the major subfields of Linguistics: phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Covers child language production and comprehension, developmental milestones, theoretical frameworks, experimental methodologies, the role of the adult speaker, and multiple factors influencing language development. Involves hands-on work emphasizing communication with speech-language pathologists, parents, educators, and other professionals.
